The meeting agreed the purchase of land on Glasgow Road Lockerbie from Lockerbie Town Council and the plans for the building were approved along with the purchase of forty one pairs of curling stones for the princely sum 0f £25, 9.3d a pair. Building work commenced and Lockerbie Ice Rink held its official opening on 20th January 1967. From 1967 until 2022 the the building was leased to South of Scotland Ice Rink Club who were responsible for providing skating and curling. On 1st January 2022 the lease was transferred to a newly formed Scottish Incorporated Charitable Organisation, Lockerbie Ice Rink, who took over the responsibility for the day to day running of the ice rink.
